Meet Klara (Claire) Egei

      Claire is a Hungarian-American filmmaker senior of BMCC, City University of New York.  She has made a number of documentaries, one of which, Four Wheel Passion, Claire produced, directed and edited on Avid in the spring of 2006, was honored with the Joshua Smith Award for Excellence.  Claire's love of film and music began early in her childhood in Transylvania in Communist Romania, growing up in an artistic Hungarian family.  She attended and graduated from the School of Economics in Budapest where she worked as an accountant, but found an outlet for her creativity by singing in a rock and roll band. She realized she needed a life more attuned to her interests.  It was only after her arrival in New York that she began to consider turning her fascination with film and television into a career. Through her films she would like to have people become more aware about our world and its problems, and show that we are all responsible for the present and the future.
