So long my friends

I'm glad Columbia was the last group to leave NAB.  We had the chance to really explore the show floor since there wasn't as much for us to do.  I was able to learn a lot more about Interplay (which is freaking sweet) and the new MC software.  Thank you everyone who checked out our podcasts and have been keeping up on the blogs.

As a sidenote, AVID people are the coolest!  I would have never thought they would have treated us(the student interns) with as much respect and go so far out of their way to make sure we felt like we were part of the company for the duration of the show, not just a temp intern.  I hope they continue this program long into the future, because the experience and knowledge it provides is priceless.

As for me, NAB is over and I need to get ready to move to LA on Sunday.  I'm really looking forward to the 30 hour drive across country.  I still don't have a job or a place to live, but after NAB, I feel like I'm a little closer to finding both.  I wish everyone at AVID and the other student interns the best of luck, and hope that our paths may one day cross again.

Till we meet again

Very Important Thank You I Forgot

Thank you so much to everyone that was checking out our blogs. I'm sure your sick of us, but it was such a great feeling to hear we were doing well in hits, it made us feel everyone was really behind us.

Also thank you to Dennis for being the proud parent this week, and for being such a great Avid teacher! I was afraid I would be overwhelmed by all the information, but by having his classes, I felt pretty close to where I needed to be. Thank You!

It's the end of the blog as we know it......

Alright, here is my final blog.
First things first, I had the most incredible experience that anyone could have asked for. It was fun, but I also learned a great deal and I even had the opportunity to make some new friends. I can not express my gratitude to Avid for allow me and all of the other student to embark on this journey with them. I hope that in the future Avid gives this opportunity again to the next generation.

To everyone else,
Thanks for reading this blog. Thanks for you kind words of encouragement and support. I'm back at home now and so another chapter is closed. In two weeks I will be graduating and moving on, then too another chapter closed. But for now, I wish to thank any and everyone who helped me along the way, I couldn't do it with out you.

Sweet Home Chicago

We got in around 11:30 p.m. I got picked up at the airport, finally sat down on the couch, and it feels really surreal to think about the last 5 days. I was talking to my roommate and I was trying to tell him that I saw Johnny Cash's guitar at the Hard Rock but instead I said, "I saw Johnny Cash's computer at the Hard Rock". I think that was the point that cemented how much this week meant to me. I'm so thankful to have been apart of such a great year for Avid at NAB. I was lucky enough to witness Avid releasing, not one new product (like some poeple across the aisle that will remain nameless) but numerous awesome products. I was also lucky enough to meet some really amazing people at Avid. Everyone made us feel so comfortable and really a part of the team. The energy was really infectious. I feel we had a really great group of students, and I'm happy I got to meet everyone (even though I didn't get to hang out as much as I wanted due to ailment) Everyone is very talented and wish everyone the best of luck in the future! Alright, I need to go to bed wake up early, and go work at the school's Avid labs at 9am (that would be 11am Vegas time.)

You mean it's already over?

It's like the feeling when you close your eyes to go to sleep and the next thing you know it's already time to wake up.

wow it's 12 AM and i am at home sweet home Chicago, Wednesday and Thursday where very busy days. Wednesday night Avid hosted a party at the Rios hotel, we where on the top floor and let me tell you... the temperature was PERFECT, no bugs, no wind, and the sight could mesmerize you for hours! Was a truly excellent night.

I want to tell more about what happened during the days of Wed. and Thurs. but since I'm so tired I'm going to do it later... but i must give thanks.

First of all thank you everyone in Avid, you treated us very well especially our contact Alice Palmer, she really pulled things together for us, she's an incredible worker who even took time to host the celebration of the birthdays of one of the fellow student representatives and Steve Chazin who showed us great energy, respect and enthusiasm.

Actually every one from avid including the CEO David Krall went out of their way to take the time to talk to us and make us feel welcome while we where there and I want to thank everyone for that.

Thanks to all the other schools that attended, they where very helpful and friendly and it's cool that we made friends from other parts of the country.

Thanks to our teachers Dennis and Charlie for coming out and supporting us while we where in Vegas.

And most of all thank all of you out there who has visited the blog page this includes friends, family, associates, classmates, teachers... EVERYONE! Seriously, I was so busy i didn't get to post as much as I wanted to but I still got to check and to see everyone continuously cheering us on really helped thanks again everyone!

Also we have another interview which is up and (hopefully working). :)

The Final Day

Well it's here, the last day,I have a lot of mixed emotions.  I've had such a great experience working for Avid at this years NAB.  I've learned so much about the technology that I will be using every day for the rest of my life for my career.  I've met so many great people.  Everyone at Avid was so nice to us, they didn't treat us as student interns but as equals.  Yesterday was probably my favorite day of the convention for multiple reasons, one being that I didn't feel like I needed to go to the hospital, two we received G-Tech 80GB portable hard drives, sonic fire 4 pro music creation program, we had an education banquet, and then we got to attend the Avid wrap party on the top of the Rio, overlooking the whole strip.  I mean come on how much more awesome can one day be.  I'm sorry I haven't blogged more, but I've spent most of my time in my room trying to get better.  I just want to say thanks again to Avid for this great opportunity.  I mean come on, how many people have this kinda of experience.  I also way to say thanks to all the other students that came on this trip, each and everyone was awesome, and I'm so happy I got to meet them all.  Post Cage thanks for all the updates, can't wait to see you all!

the last day

So, we made it. Today is the last day of the show. in about twelve hours we'll be on a plane heading home. But we still have much to do. We still need to finish cutting our podcast interview, and get it up on the web. It should go up some time this afternoon. not sure exactly when but it will happen later on.

I just want to give out a pre thank you to everyone at Avid for making all of us feel welcome and a part of the team. I had an excellent experience, even better than I expected or could have imagined. Thank you.
